I'm still concerned about what information I might be missing, and might indeed need to add a hub in order to get the gauges connected to see that extra info, but at least my install is back on track for now. Anyway, long story short, my NMEA cable clicks into the harness using that adapter just fine, so, without testing as of yet, problem probably solved. While poking around, I didn't take a close look at it, other than seeing that the pins didn't match, and didn't realize it was actually an adapter, thought it was just an overly large connector. Well, when I disconnected the two last night, I disconnected the opposite end of that adapter. In the image above, there's a little white adapter between the "Y" and the engine harness. So I just climbed into the boat to disassemble the harness to snap a couple photos, and proved again why I'm not doing this for a living. Is there some other adapter or pigtail I can possibly purchase which will allow me to connect the CL wiring harness to my NMEA network, without having to install a CL hub, since I won't need to keep the gauges connected? Or perhaps is there a better way to make the connection? I'm a fairly handy DIY'er, I'm quite comfortable doing my electronics installs, I just haven't been able to find any definitive answer one way or the other, on what approach or options I have. The CL to NMEA 2000 interface cable I have does not match the connections I have available when I disconnect the gauge connector "Y" adapter from the engine harness. My question, or issue, is this- I'm installing two Garmin 7610xsv's in my dash, and plan to run the engine data through some combination of screens through those two units, and will remove the round CL gauges.

When mine arrived, just a week ago, I found my install did not have a hub, apparently there's another two-gauge kit which doesn't leverage the hub. When researching the boat, the models I was able to check out in person all had a Command Link hub installed in the console, which the gauges were connected to. Hi- My Tidewater 230CC with a Yamaha 250 SHO came with the round Command Link two gauge package.
